SUMMER READING 2020

The library doors may be closed, but our summer reading program is still on! We’ve got a lot planned for you, including grab-and-go crafts, prizes, and virtual programs. We hope you have a magical, safe summer!

Registration begins June 1st!

“Imagine Your Story” for ages 0 – 5

Step 1: Register your child in the Little One’s Summer Reading Program! You can register on Beanstack by going to www.arkcity.beanstack.org. Using Beanstack if you can is highly encouraged – this is the easiest method for our librarians. If you’re unable to use Beanstack, we do have paper logs available. Just request for them to be added to your curbside order.

Step 2: Log the books you read to your child! Receive a free book for every 5 books you log!

Step 3: Read 30 books to your child to complete the program! Top readers will be entered to win a lightstax or a scooter.

Every Thursday over Facebook – complete the weekly challenge and submit photos

STEAM Follow-Along Videos
Weekly videos featuring a different science-related activity that you can do at home!

Exploration Place
Join us for a live event hosted by Exploration Place!

“Imagine Your Story” for 1st – 5th grade

 

Step 1: Register in the Children’s Summer Reading Program! You can register on Beanstack (Please let us know if you have any questions!) Using Beanstack if you can is highly encouraged – this is the easiest method for our librarians. If you’re unable to use Beanstack, we do have paper logs available. Just request for them to be added to your curbside order.

Step 2: Using either Beanstack or paper reading logs from the library, keep track of the time you spend reading between June 1st and July 31st! For every 3 hours that you spend reading, turn in your reading log at the library for a free book!

Step 3: Read for a total of 15 hours to complete the program! Become a top reader for a change to win a skateboard or a Fire 7 tablet!

Step 1: Sign up for the Teen Summer Reading Program. You can register on Beanstack (Please let us know if you have any questions!) Using Beanstack if you can is highly encouraged – this is the easiest method for our librarians. If you’re unable to use Beanstack, we do have paper logs available. Just request for them to be added to your curbside order.

Step 2: Using either Beanstack or paper reading logs from the library, keep track of the books you read between June 1st and July 31st! The books must be similar to or above your current reading level.

Step 3: Read at least 5 books to complete the program and receive a goodie bag from the library! Each book read and reviewed will earn you one raffle ticket into the grand prize of your choice. Completing the program will earn you 10 extra tickets! You will be able to choose the grand prize you want to win via the Beanstack website or app.

Craft Bags for Teens

Each week beginning on Monday, we will be handing out a craft kit containing supplies and instructions to create the craft of the week! To get your craft kit, make a curbside order and request that a teen craft kit be added to the bag. Supplies are limited and are on a first-come, first-serve basis. If we run out, check back on Monday for the next craft bag!

Virtual Events for Teens

Friday Night Netflix Party
Join us on Friday evenings at 6:30! Every Friday, we’ll post the party link on Facebook. Click that link and log into your own Netflix account to join! Movies or TV Shows will be chosen by popular vote on the day of the party.
