Toddler Totes are backpacks filled with books, games, & activities that help parents teach their children early literacy skills.

Our Toddler Totes were funded by Power of the Purse, and ACPL will continue to add more themed items to this ongoing collection!

Research shows that developing early literacy skills are linked with academic achievement, reduced grade retention, higher graduation rates, and enhanced productivity in adult life. It’s very important that infants and toddlers develop emergent literacy skills (print motivation, vocabulary, print awareness, narrative skills, letter knowledge, and phonological awareness) that help provide a foundation for successful literacy later in life.
